I am going to long track my Viper using a Warrior skid but need some info pertaining to the mid & rear mount locations as they will need to be relocated. I have called the major Yam mountain performance guys but no one has any answers. Unfortunatly I do not have a Warrior tunnel available to referance.

Does anyone have a template or mount location info for this swap? Someone must have done this already?

Thanks in advance for any input! :o|

If the Warrior skid is the same as other pro-action 136" skids, which I believe it is, I can help you out. I long tracked mine to 136" using Mountain Max rails and brackets.
The front arm uses the same hole in the tunnel as the short track. The center hole is 7.5 inches back from the original short track center mounting hole. You can put this hole either 4.25" or 5" down from the top of the tunnel. The two positions are for 1.5" or 2" lug tracks. I use the bottom one (5") for more tunnel clearance.
The rear mounting bracket, upper center mounting bolt is 15.5" back from the center mounting hole, (the new one). It is located 2.25" up from the running board measured from the outside. Use the outer brace to locate the two lower mounting holes. All measurements are center to center.

You can reuse the brace that is rivited to the inside of the tunnel at the rear bracket area. Some grinding/cutting of the heat exchanger will be required, this is because the tunnel tappers smaller as you go back. About only a 1/8" is required though so its no big deal with a cut off wheel.

I may be able to come up with some pics, in mid Sept. I will be pulling the skid out and converting it to an A/C 1M skid, and most likely selling the Viper 136" skid and mounts. I will try to get pics of the inner braces.

Thanks for the info,

The measurement for the rear brackets being up from the bottom of the running board, does that mean from the bottom of the heat exchanger or the running board itself?

Now I need to verify if your asumption is correct that the MM is he same as the Warrior!

Thank you & any further input or pics would be greatlt appreciated.

It would be measuring on the outside of the tunnel to the top of the running board. Rear drop brackets for the MM are part # 8DP-47426-10-00 and 8DP-47425-10-00, left and right are different. The outside lower hole braces are #8DP-47467-00-00 2 req.

Mountain Max brackets will fit all 97 and up pro-action 2 stroke tunnels. The RX tunnels are different and most likely use different mounting brackets. The main thing you want to check, is if the Warrior W arm and rear arms are the same length/part # as MM/Venture 136" arms.

Your help is much appreciated, but it has not gotten any easier. I was told yesterday from Mountain Perf that the Warrior is indeed slightly differant than the MM but unfortunatly didn't have any specs for me.

Is there anyone out there with the skid out of there Warrior that can help!!!

I plan to visit the dealer to try and pull some dimensions on an assembled sled but distance from center to center and from the top of the tunnel will only be an estimate.

I am not sure of the tolorances of the hole locations are but I do know that with coupled skids they have to be fairly accurate or bind up will be an issue.
