I've seen posts from guys that have either done this or asked about doing this so I'm going to add 1 more.What is the benefit,if any,to a stock 700 engine or to one with the base gasket/head mod done?Thanks. 
changes compression and raises the post timing...suppose to be worth a few HP. If you cut your head pipes down by 3/8 you can also gain a few more HP.
