Hey all, me and my dad have a 02 SRX just sitten outside tried to sell it over the summer were 4 strokers now. Getten to the point weve descided to make it a grass dragger, we wanna stud it and put a can on it. Just looken for an opinion on what studs and what can, just wanna know how to make this SRX a even bigger monster.

if its full out grass, then you'll want a lower profile track. as far as studs, no clue but i know theres a lot of guys that can help you with track/stud combo and amount. there aren't any cans available aftermarket that add horsepower, they all take away 1-3 hp depending on the can. all they are good for is sound and weight savings. if your looking to compete, you've got a long ways to go, but its definetely do-able.

Its more for fun, not looken to get any money out of it just to have a little fun over the summer and show up a few sleds on the lakes.

haha, nobody's tryin to pick on ya man, just tryin to be realistic. its kinda like the commercials where the girl goes in and says "My cars making a funny noise, it sounds like this... NEO$#*uGKLne_#_)@!#N. Can you fix it?.." Give out as much info as possible that is relevant (i.e. how serious, how much $ your workin with, how serious you are lookin to be, is it straight drag or just a lake run while still bein a trail sled, etc.) and there are plenty of knowledgeable guys on here that will get you pointed where you need to be, and also most have parts that your looking for to accomplish this. hope this helps...

all i was sayin was be more specific. there are thousands of possibilities and without getting a better understanding of what your trying to do, we can't really help you much if any.

ok, well with $1000, I'd get into a low profile track and some studs, clutching, gearing, and strap downt he suspension, remember to jet it down for the grass to.
clutching I can't really help you with, I always was dealing with clay starting lines, gearing you should be 20-40 as a bal park, but having a couple spare gears to tune that to the track/day is a really good idea.
clutching, gearing, and a good jet box are more important than a race track, but a race track is definatly worth time.

This post isn't useless.I ment what circuit are you going to run as far as how serious are you going to get.Junior,me and lot's of others have years of grass draging expeirence and all of us leared a little bit from each other in the past on here.We can't give out info if we don't know hat class, etc your going to run.If you run a can you will have to run imp stock which there are 170+hp sleds in that class.there's different classes at different circuit's that why we don't know. Some classes you can't run a speed track.Sorry if you took us the wrong way.

Primary Spring: Heel Clicker Red
Weights: 40-10Y Heel Clickers (with engagement notch)
Heel: 5 grams
Mid: 0
Tip: 6 grams
Rollers: 15.6mm
Secondary Spring: Yamaha Silver
Helix: 45-41 Advant-Edge Motorsports
Gearing: 20/39
I would look into buying a extra set of front and rear SX or SRX shocks and having them spacered down to 2" of travel as well. Go with the stock canister and keep the stock ignition timing. I would also recommend doing a little bit of touch up work on the motor (cutting the heads for tighter squish). The SRX is still very competitive in backyard racing.

Thanks for the info guys. My '01 SRX used to be the stocker for our grass drag team and I bought it for a trail sled. I would like to run it in a couple of circuits around here and this info will definately help out. Thanx again.
