Well i currently have an 05 vector. My GF wanted to get into snowmobiling so we started to look around a little bit. This weekend we picked up an 02 viper with 2400 miles for 2600 bucks. The sled is in mint condition it came with:
3 belts
a cover
An mbrp trail can(Sounds real good but i think we will lose power with it)
Stock windsheild and low black one
144 picks
and bergstrom skegs.
We are pretty excited for this winter!!!!

It was just the distance. I bought mine last july in Vermont for $2800 with 1200 miles. Some great deals in the off season.

Just one word of caution(or make that a few words)... You stated that "My GF wanted to get into snowmobiling"-- if she doesnt have much experience, make sure that she is aware of the dangers and what this sled is capable of - it's NO DOG, -- it's NOT one of the sleds I would put in the hands of a rookie...

she has ridden my vector several times and she is a very cautious rider. Very very conservative with the throttle. I also set a pace when im with her that is below what she can handle. I dont want her to get hurt.

Wow, that was a great deal. Congrats on a great sled.I wouldn't dream of selling my 02 Viper with 2800 miles on it for that. Even after just buying a new Nytro. My local dealer was going to give me 3400 for it on trade on a new Vector he had on the floor. These people are either crazy, or they need money bad. I don't get it. Enjoy, but don't let her hurt herself.

That was a great deal you found; impressive. Although, look around for a lot of sled deals coming up as Detroit lays off more folks. Unfortunately, I bet all kinds of "toys" will be going up for sale: boats, camp property, sleds, atvs, bikes, etc.

I sold the sled in this thread, a very good sled indeed. That said, people that live in Michigan, or Iowa dont have the same economics that we do on the East Coast, its more expensive here. There is no way any dealer near me would offer even 2k for an 02 two stoke sled, inventory is huge here, there is a Viper of the same vintage, with less miles, with a trailer for four hundred dollars more than I got for mine...
The Viper was a good sled, but I dont want to pay for its gas, nor its oil, I just bought a Nytro. I didnt need the money, ask Kyle, he was at my house, I just wanted to get out of riding a two stroke once and for all, and I sold it in April, after the worst winter in decades, I think we both made out! I paid cash for it, and received cash for it..
and after pounding thru the bumps chasing my buds with their revs and machs, you can keep the old school suspension thanks..

That's no BS. You haven't seen my stuff. That's the God's honest truth. The high retail on an 02 Viper is $4100, low book is around 3200. Mine is cleaner that any you will find. The local dealer has one right now on the floor that has 4000 miles on it and they are asking $4100 for it. Mine makes that one look silly. And they'll get very close to that price. The dealer in Houghton this winter was going to give me the same on a Nytro they had. I guess the market is different around here. That being said....
I wasn't saying YOU needed the money. Man don't get all offended. The comment about you house was just arrogant. We all have new houses, big deal. Relax, it was a comment about all the people on here giving away their sleds. I've been on this site since around 2000 or 2001, can't remember, but it didn't used to be like this. Nobody back then would make those kind of comments, that's why this site had such a great rep. Keep a lid on it.
