1991 Phazer paint code ##?

Hey everyone,
I am the proud owner of a 1991 Phazer in almost perfect shape. It has about 2,900 miles on it. Well today I was washing and waxing it as I got it ready for storage. I was using my power washer like I always do, and I blasted two areas of paint off of the side covers. I want to touch up these areas. So how do I go about getting the correct touch-up paint? My sled is a dark blue metallic color. Any ideas? Does Yamaha make touch up paint? Are there paint codes?

Blue metallic is gonna be a b**ch to match no matter where you get it from. Even "factory pack" spray will look different if you spray it a different direction or too many coats. I'd take the rear side panel off and go to a parts store with color chips and match it up as close as you can. On my red 91 Phazer, I found that Dupli-Colors SF GM 398 matches pretty darn close (of course it's not metallic either).

Depending on how big of area you blew off, could be a lot of work involved......

By the sounds of it you have the same colour Phazer as mine.
I touched up a few tiny chips with car touch up paint from Canadian Tire. It by no means matches perfectly, but it covers up white spots. Not sure how much you had power washed off. I'll make sure not to do that with my sled!

YES!! My sled is exactly the same as yours!!! So what was the color that you ended up using? It looks stupid with the white showing now. Does Yamaha sell orig paint touch up?
 
I have that same color. Back in the day ( I bought the sled new) Yamaha sold touch up paint in a mascara-type brush applicator. It did nto work well. Your best bet it to try and match it at an auto body shop. Alternatively, you could troll ebay for parted out plastics depending on the size of paint you blew off. You might get lucky.

I loved the sled so much that when I sruck a log and bent the frame, I bought another to part out and rebuild the other (sorry the plastics are mine to keep :)

I have the paint at home now, and I'm living away from there while at school, but I'll be back in about a week or so. I can give you the exact code then.

Just go to a Canadian Tire (or similar store in the US) and look at the touch-up paint section. I used a GM touch up paint that I used on my car. I'm sure you could find a pretty close match.

It's nice when the colour of your toys matches your vehicle. :D Yamaha Blue all the way for me!

Just like my sled, it's older, but in excellent condition!
Picked it up with only 48,000 kms, now have over 150,000.
I love taking care of these older machines... comments always make it worthwhile.
