I'm thinking of buying some fxr gear for this upcoming winter. Does anyone have any info on the Octane series? Does it keep you warm on those subzero days does it keep you dry? Any info on fxr gear would be helpful. Thanks

I have the full FXR octance set up (pants and jacket). They are the 2004 model year, and i love them. They are excellent for wind protection and keeping you dry. The only thing is that make sure if you plan on wearing the jacket on those real cold days that you get the fleece liner for it. The jacket itself is only the shell, and you need to buy the liner seperately for about $40 I think. With that liner in there, VERY warm even on those subzero days. Glad i made the upgrade. :WayCool:

I have to disagree on FXR keeping you dry. I have had a few jackets and none of them have lasted a whole season keeping me dry! It seemed like they were waterproof in the beginning, but after you washed them one time the water just soaked in after that.

They have some nice gear if you don't plan on getting a lot of snow on you! The only times I have problems keeping dry is when we are running powder ... and you stop and have snow caked all over you! Other than that, just running trails they work good.
