just read an interesting post regarding trailer hub maintainence.... can anyone suggest the proper procedure and torque required when tightening the axle hub nut?.. Triton sled trailer with Ez-Lube hubs...

We use 100# 1/2" wheel studs,

if you are talking about how tight to tighten the large nut that holds the barings and all in place, I always hand tighten untill there is just a bit of resistance on the hub then back it off to the first avaliable slot to install the cotter pin.
Keep in mind when you are going down the road the bearings will expand because of heat. so you do not want to over tighten the large hub nut.

OR.......accually I think my triten does not have a cotter pin slot but it does have a special washer that you bend over the tab to hold the nut in place like a cotter pin would do.
