I think I am going back to heelclickers, when I bought the sled (2002 srx) it had them installed and was actually the (or the driver was) norwegian drag champion a few years back. A local speedshop here convinced me to take the kit away because it would explode the clutch because it would compress the spider too hard and break it or something like that. Anyway, the 8bu with blue white blue spring and 47/42 and green spring was NOT a success in my book. Fine the sled was a little faster on top, but not much (3-5 mph). They also geared it to 22/40 (it had previously 22/38). What then happened was that the sled began to slip the belt at very low speeds, something that never occurred with the heelclickers, and the clutch was much hotter than with the heelclickers. This only got worse when I put on a speedsheave, now it was really smoking the belt, I mean if you get off the trail, it will get the cord out of the v-belt in no time. None of this happened with the heelclickers installed. Therefore I am going to put them back (new ones, I had the old ones in the trunk along with a bottom gear, and it made a million marks on the weights, but thats another story, I actually managed to sell them) but I have a few questions:

1) Should I go with the heelclicker kit or the heelclicker 2 speed kit, because the latter promises more top end speed.
2) If I go for #2, where are the tuning instructions? The non 2 speed kit had great instructions, and believe it or not, it worked, the sled revved up to 8500 and held it there steady, no matter if you were on hardpack or in powder..

That's the questions I come up with now, more later...

I run the new hammer times in my turbo rX-1. they work very well. There is nothing wrong with using heelclickers until you blow a belt. They will then explode & ruin your clutches & possibly cause more damage.

Won't the stock weights do the same thing if the belt blows?
Did the 2 speed kit come with tuning instructions, because I can't see them on the supertorquer site..
