I have a 2001 700srx that out of the hole spmetimes does not rev past7000rpm.If machine is moving about 20 km no problem machine takes off good.
I had it at the dealer twice now and have tried a new cdi box and have bought a new stator hoping that would solve the problem but no luck.
Now the dealer tells me he has no idea.
The machine has been put back to stock clutching and carburation.
This only happens off the line, since all I do with this machine is drag race and radar runs.
I have had the motor out twice and checked the wiring harness, but no luck.
All elctrical components test out perfect since I have the complete tear down book.
I need some serious help if anyone is willing to share some other problems.
Has not run since 2003 properly.

Check your pilot jets. Sounds like a carbueration issue.

LIke Turk said, make sur ethe pilots are clean, set the fuel screws at 2.5 turns see if it goes away or gets better, maybe, maybe, tighten your secondary a little could also be overshifting just a little off the line as well as make sure your belt deflection is correct, that will do the same thing.............

Thanks guys but yes I did have all the carburators completely apart and clean.
The power valve circuit does work and the valves are new and set up correctly.
This does not happen all the time, but when it does this is very humiliating.
It is not even presentable in the public anymore,it goes from my shop down to the river and back to the shop.
I even bypassed the load control relay thinking it would be one there warranty issues coming back to haunt me,unpluged all the dash controls.
It almost sounds like a cylinder breaking down under load,or maybe a coil.
Complete engine is fresh.
All new plug caps.
thanks for the help guys.
