I got a snomobile chassis with an engine for a Go kart project and I dont really know what it is or if the belt is the right one or not. Here are some pictures to help also the chassis has an Id # of 8G8-005786 and the engine says 338-005786. So all I know is that it is a yamaha 340cc thats about it.
Also I need to take the secondary clutch apart so I can put a longer shaft on it but am not sure if all I need to do is knock the drift pin out of the center or is there more?
thanks

Although my pre-1980 chart seems to be missing, I am quite sure that is a 1978 ET340.
Yah, hold the cam in place and drive the spring pin out. Make sure you note the location of the spring and the shims before you take it apart.

ET340 for sure, just like the others said.
Looks preety old, as the primary is the REALLY old style, but not sure of the name. It is unlike my bravo clutch, or the older phazerII clutch or 89Et340 clutch.
BTW, like your shop, its nice to see you got everything organaized and have more than one marker and knives. I always ending up losing mine.

Thanks I still lose them but at least i have many backups...
I am a little confused because I looked xtrememotosports and looked at an excel III clutch and brake assembly and it looked the same but I was thinking the 8G8 part of the tag on the chassis meant 78 because G is the 7th letter of the alphabet but I could be reading way to much into it

The 8G8 has nothing to do with a year. It is the model of sled that the clutch was designed for. My Phazer is an 8VO so all the parts that are phazer specific will have 8VO on them! It's a yamaha thing!
