I have a 02 Viper with 5,000 miles on it. At what point do you have the shocks rebuilt ? Does it go by the amount of years or the miles. I only ride trails and no jumping. On the 02 Vipers they had a shock exchange because the original shock were too stiff which I had done. I weigh about 240lbs. fully dressed. In everybody opinon who is best qualified to rebuild these shocks & also at a good price.

Id think your shocks are fine, especially when riding the sled easily on trails.
Although my shocks are different than yours, I jump my sled and ride it hard, and at nearly 19000kms, they are still good, not great but good. The springs are soft now, lol, but shocks are still good.

Yamaha and KYB recommend 3 yrs. or 3500 miles. If you have ever seen old shock oil you would be amazed. Nasty looking!! Send them to Pioneer Performance and give Bruce your riding style and weight. He'll revalve and replace any bad components. You will be amazed at the difference. Had him do the shocks on my 600 XTC, and it transformed it into a superb riding and handling sled. If you look at my avatar, you'll see the launch but not the landing LOL! That kittle 600 surprised MANY bigger sleds while I rode it. Still rides great after lotsa' hard miles. Best of luck with whatever you do.
