Hey everyone

Looking into getting a phazer 500 motor, then having it ported, SX type cut pistons, bored over to 499cc(maybe), high comp heads(shaved), and allt he ports and transfers cleaned up, all to make a more powerful engine.

Just wondering if anyone out there knows of a shop, preferably in Ontario if possible, that can perform this modifications. If nothing in Canada even, then somewhere in the US will be fine.

Thanks in advance!

lots of experience with the phazers. I've had 2 done by them, where awesome sleds, the one would hold even with a max-4 until 70mph.

Thanks Junior, im going to call them once I find a Phazer 500 motor.

Also, can you remember what you had done to your motors?

Im willing to spend $$$, and want a motor that will make as much power as it can, but still be reliable enough to drive it. I know it wont be like my stock one, but if I have to change rings once or twice every season, I wouldnt mind.

I don't recall what all was done to it, head shave and porting forsure, the porting had a swirl to it aswell. I think I had a pipe on it? it's hard to remember, the work was done when I was like 10 or 12, tell him Juniors sled tho they'll know the one you're talking about. I've had 3 over the years, but only 1 had motor work done to it.

also I shoulda meantioned they're just outside shelbourne, near orangeville.

Alright, thanks for the info!

When I eventually find a motor, ill call them and tell them I want something what you had done to yours. Was your phazer still preety reliable though?

You know where I can find a phazer 500 motor by any chance besides scanning the bargain hunter, and on here?, lol

Im doing this because the engine I currently have, hasnt given me the slightest bit of trouble, ever, and dont want to mess with that. This new motor however, will be modded and its reliability will most likely be not as good as my current motor. So if the modded one pooches, or something happens, I can just swap carbs, clutches and motor, and be out riding again in about 2 hours. Its just kind of a way to ensure that im riding all the time, and I dont want to mess with something that is perfect in the reliability department, that being my current motor.

Along with the motor, im going to need a different secondary and primary, and hopefully some V-max carbs(flatslide). I can get these all for preety cheap from a used parts depo. Ill get the company, to set the clutches to my modifications, and will see about them re-jetting the carbs.
