1985 yamaha srv clutch problem

i have an 85 srv and the sled doesnt move till like 4,000 rpms and when it does its like 0-45mph in 4 seconds how do i get the primary to kick in at a lower rpm? can anyone help?

im not saying i know alot about the srv but.... dont be suprised if it wants to bog if you engage to early... i know the vmax 540's and srx 440 do ....

If you have not done it yet, disassemble the clutch and check everything. The spring may be okay, but worn and binding parts could be causing the problem.
