Grrrr aaen pipe problem on a vmax (pics)

I think you clould wled that up preety nice with a mig welder, and take your time with it, with the amperage turned quite a ways down, just to prevent burnthrough. Burnthroughs tend to happen alot on exhausts if your not careful.

Just weld the back side of it with really small bead running the circumference of outside of the seal.

Thatd be my best guess to fixing it....

try putting on an exh dounut from a muffler shop. those are desigend to wear so it might stop your breakage problem. looks like the pipe might not be bent on the right angle and it is putting pressure unevenly on the dounut.

same thing happend to my y pipe on my SRV with my AAEN pipe, bought a used y pipe and have been using exaust seal tape ever since with no problems so far!

Pipe

What 700 top end ??? Would Yamaha GYT twins work good on that engine ?? Don't mean to get off topic..I will be picking up a 1995 V-max 600 and will be going balistic on engine crap...I want to BB it and I have a set of GYT twins...thanx for any info..

its the stock cylinder heads. bord to 701cc and wider domes.
Engine mods on it now are: The big bore, bigger ports,vforce2 reeds, aaen single pipe.

sled has some really nice power but im thinking that i should go twin pipes this summer.
GYT twin would work nice but if your gonna buy them brand new just go with aaen or psi.

only went up one size in the main jets.

here are some photos of the whole sled.

Thanx for the info !!! When I pick up the sled I'll get some pics out...This is my plan..700 BB from Hauck with fast trail lake race porting..I just got a set of GYT twins today..Go thru the bottom end(seals etc.) It's a long track sled so I have a long track speed track with 220 1.080 Chissels..No slip Whal drivers,I will lighten it up(It's going to be for lake racing only).Small USI drag ski's..Thinking of 42mm TMX carbs..I will use it for 660' ice only..I would like to get more tech data from ya....I will pm ya......thanx,Ron
