Can anyone tell me what order these go on the pump shaft and which way the ceramic half faces (I know the impellar and washer (not pictured) go on last). I believe I was drinking when I took it apart and thats been 5 months ago, so now I'm at a loss for memory. Thanks fellas!

Thanks, but the micrfiche doesn't show which way the ceramic side goes. The 1998 service manual doesn't even show these parts.

ceramic side faces the spring loaded outer seal. Goes on the shaft facing the impeller side, not the bearing side.
Put a very thin coat RTV around the outer part of the seal, then drive it in with a piece of pipe/tubing. try not to bend the outer seal stop, if you do, the seal will sit crooked in the bore, and won't seal. Don't just tap in a circle around the seal with a hammer, cause you will bend the outer edge. Try to get it started as staight as possible.

The ceramic side contacts the rubber cup of the mechanical seal. I believe this is what tripplex was saying, but i couldn't understand the wording positively. Rubber side is impellar side, ceramic is mechanical seal side.

Now you guys got me way confused, lol. Someone should put a waterpump section in the technical pages, and that someone shouldn't be me!!!!!!
From what I understand, the rubber/spring mechanical seal slides on the shaft first, then the ceramic face butts up against that, then the impellar goes on, correct? I have all the tork specs.
Also, the waterpump cover is corroded with white aluminum corrosion in the groove where the gasket goes, so is the groove in the block. Have you guys ever used a polishing tip on a dremel to clean this groove up?
