I am planning on swapping out my '97 vmax sx maxximum performance control rods to my 2002 viper.
Maxximum says they will fit, but they suggest putting spacers on the rods for the viper application. Does anybody know why?
Also, I'm assuming the stock viper rods (with the wrench adjustable nuts) will fit back on the vmax. Does anybody know this for sure? What about the spacers???

I think what they mean is keep the same spacers above and below the adjuster for the sled...dont transfer the spacers unless they are the same. But yes the rods will go right on. Actually I thought that the hand adjuster nut will fit on the new style Yamaha rods....

maxximum and hauck make the adjuster nut for the new viper arms.
I don't care for the design of the arms though. They only have 7.5mm of adjustment, the maxximum rods have 15mm.
I talked to maxximum again today, they said the old rods from the vmax would fit on the viper - and to buy the spacers because the viper is slightly longer (with the spacers installed, the rods come in right at OEM tolerances???).
He also said the viper rods should fit right back in to the vmax. So, that's what I'm going to do. Put the old maxximum rods in the viper and the viper rods in the vmax before selling it.
