Hey guys, been a while since i posted! Anyway, i put larger Doo wheels up front on my skid a few years back and after that i went to 136 on my SRX and had to really crank up my limiters to get front end to bite. I noticed that the track does not roll as freely as it used to and seems to be really tight at the bend up front. Looks to me like by pulling up the limiters it is put additional pressure right on the first set of wheels. I am thinking since the front of the skid is pulled up some much maybe i should switch back to the stock wheels and maybe just have a small kit instead?..........thanks........James

Pulling up the limiters will make the track turn more freely because there is not as mutch pressure on the front of the rails and there is less bend there for the track to follow. The front set of wheels are fixed in there spot like the ones behind them so there is no differance if the limiters are moved. You loose a lot of traction if they are pulled up to mutch.Adding better carbides and more front spring preload would be my pick as the longer track makes the sled want to go more in a straight line than the 121 did.The small wheel kit is a good idea it gets mounted right where the track starts to go straight but trying to get them to not fall off has been my biggest problem.HTH LEN

If the plastic washers are thinner on the very bottom of the transfer rods it will give you more ski pressure as well.

Here is the thing, when i pulled up the limiters and loosen off the front spring to zero preload my track got tight and put lots more pressure on the front wheels.......i wonder if by having a straight rate spring (from MaxxPerf) put on when i longtravel'd the shock is causing some of problem....i was planning on trying a dual rate spring from a Viper to see if it make a difference. I can tell you the blue straight rate is quite longer than the Viper one.........James

Tightening the limiter strap actually slides the rails back slightly. I drew up a quick triangle to reference the front arm, tunnel mount, and rail mount and showed how shortening pushes the position in which the arm mounts to the rail back.

Holy crap, too much math for me! LOL So i wasn't going crazy after all. I guess i will have to look elsewere to find why i my track is so much harder to turn by hand.........James

holy spock if that is the case then a readjustment of the track would make it still make the track more free if they are pulled up no? your roter has likely siezed to the shaft and is pressing against the inside brake pad.open up the caliper with a screwstick and see if the track turns more freely.the grease gets washed away after time and is common for rotor to stick on the keyway or maybie you are getting weak with old age.cya

Who, good tip. I will be replacing all driveline bearings so i will check that out. Just over 10kms on sled and about 4500kms on bearings.........man my to do list is growing everyday.........James
