I was just wondering if its worth it to do the head gasket mod to an 02 slp piped viper and/or how many layers to yank out?I'm unsure if it has the opti-cool headgasket from the previous owner but it may since it has the extra heat exchanger. If so then i'll just leave it but how can you tell if its the opti-cool gasket?

the holes for the cooling paths are all round holes in the bender, the yamaha is oblonged. these gaskets are definately worth it, i had the temps on all cylinders checked with the sled running and they were all within 1 degree F. the guy checkin it has raced and tinkered with sleds his whole life and said he never seen a tripple so close.

yeah the sled has bender pipes on it so it may have the headgasket already sincei t has the rear exchanger but was wondering if there was any sense in modifying the gasket if it isn't an opti-cool gasket?
Simple anwser on the gasket, leave it alone, nothing to to gain from that by itself.
