I am going to put back heelclikers on my srx, but I don't know wheter to go with hc 1 or 2. Hc 1 because, it's easy, well proven, and there are instructions how to set it up. Hc 2 because of better top end, but there are no instructions for it and how do I know they hold up? Where are the set ups for hc 2?
I think I asked this question before, sorry.

well actually there is 3 versions, the first gen you had to grind a notch in to the clutch to clear the heel, the second gen(40-10) were direct bolt in and in my opinion the best ones. the last ones were called the hammertimes, these have the swinging moveable weight, they were the ones with the problems exploding and ruining clutch's
So the second generation then? Are the problems with the 3's solved now?

I really dont know what ever became of the hammertime problems, go with the second gen ones, you will get great performance and hassle free.
Thanks, I'll do that

wrong
1stgen -only a heal weight and 1 hole
2ndgen -3 weight positions
3rdgen - 3 weight positions, no longer require a notch grooved.

ya srx600, if you want to split hairs, Randy did update the early weights half way thru the year, you could add weight in another hole, BUT you still had to grind the sheave to clear the heel...................................
they fixed the hammer times (so i have heard). The first year the movable sheve was made out of somthing similar to white metal(pressed powder?) and they came apart over time. The second version the movable weight was made tougher(cast?) supposed to last longer.

The original heel & tip hc,s worked fine. Most of the set ups you are running heel & tip weight only anyways. I am running hammertimes in my turbo RX-1 & they really work well. I have used all generation of hc,s with good success. I had 2 failures. My 1st primary shive cracked cus I figure I did a crappy job notching the shive for heel clearence. The 2nd time was totally my fault; went for a quick hi speed pass with a slightly frayed belt( shoulda known better...dumb-***!) The belt blew & the hc,s shattered & took out both my clutches; clutch guard & side panel(RX-1)

May be interested, will let you know soon, keep me in mind please.
Still, where are the set ups for the hammertime weights?

The Hammertimes are not a very commonly used weights. The first season they had alot of durability issues and this has scared most of the people away from them. This is why you don't see any setups for them.
