Winter will soon be here, so it's time to get the sleds ready before it's -40 in the garage.
I have a 2001 700 Venture. What is a good compression reading for this engine? It has 20 000kms. on it. That's right, about 13 000 miles, and I read about 100p.s.i. right across all 3 cylinders.
Thanks

Seems a little low - my 700 triple with 3800 miles has 125-130 psi I think.

for that milage that is a good compression reading. i know my sxr500 was 118 and 120 when i tested it this spring before i put it away. my et410 was 98 and 100 respectavely but the 500 saw more runnin than the 410 did last year.
if you are worried about it it has enough milage for a tear down for a re-ring job. then it would be good for the whole season. that and it also gives you an excuse to do the head gasket mod for the sx700r in the tec pages.
