Well, i have moved on to the inside chaincase assembly. all is going well when its time to put the chain on.

I have Included in this assembly : Top sprocket-big/thin Washer And Nut.
Bottem Sprocket - big washer And Bolt.

I have 2 Um Washers for the Top and Bottem Shaft. ones Bigger then the other but im still not sure where they both go. BOTH came out of the chaincase so both Must go back in the chaincase. i tried putting both of these things on both shafts then installed the sprocket/nut and bolt and put the chain on.... The Thing is when i go to Rotate the Secondary shaft It rotates about 1/4 the way and then Stops... what is this?

Let me know this, what bigger Washer goes on top and bottem.
They are about this size |<----->| and |<-->|. Even when i try both on top and bottem it seems like the Parking break is on.. but it isn't, cuz i removed the whole Parking assmb.

But After i take the Sprockets off the Secondary shaft Rotates Freely. Rotor spins and nothing stops until i put the sprockets back on.

Help is needed! thanks

When you get the sprokets on you need to lay a flat edge across the gears, and it should lay level, touching both all the way across. Maxdlx

the picture Kinda helped.... but im a whole not sure, yes im going to do that Paul. K well If all dosnt go according to that diagram i will i get back to this Thread.

Thanks boys

those spacers go on behind the sprockets, or on the shafts first, then your chain and sprockets go on, I think if memory serves me, its the thick one on top and skinny one on bottom.

Thick one on top and thin on the bottom. The top gear doesn't have a collar on the backside like the lower gear does, hence you need the thick one on top!!

yep they only go one way to align correctly. locktite the bottom bolt that holds the gear.

auji,
Get a black magic marker, clean the stuff right when you take it off, and mark the stuff in such a manner that you will be able to reassemble.
For instance; "top/inside", "bottom inside", then mark the bottom gear
"side out".
Then put all your bolts/nuts for the chaincase in a ziplock bag, and write on the bag "viper chaincase"

I only do this if I know it will be apart for more than a couple of days.

I'm not trying to be a smart ***, seriously it took me a while to learn that taking 5 minutes now, saves hours later.

Yea don't forget that loctite on the bottom bolt, bad things happen. :whine:

Wont turn?

AJ....You said it wouldn't turn when you tightened them up. I thought of somthing. Make sure you have the spacer on the drive shaft. It normally stays right on the shaft when you take it apart but somtimes it also stays in the seal on the chaincase. This spacer is about 1/2 inch and it has a o-ring seal on the inside. If it's not there then you will side load the bearing when you tighten it up and the shaft wont turn freely. Just a thought.
