I went to my local dealer today because jr_amsoil told me that they had a Phazer there. I had to go and check it out. They had it sitting in the showroom. One word SWEET! ;)! Fit and finish is typical Yamaha, stand up ergos are awesome, nice straight, tall handlebars, WIDE running boards with good grip and cool gauges. Suspension looks like it will take anything. I just had to sit on it, when you're sitting on it, you truely feel like you're sitting on a dirtbike, the seat was perfect for me as I'm only 170 lbs. and I like thinner seats as compared to the wide seat like my SRX had. Again the ergonomics of the sled were awesome. Then I asked the salesman what it sounded like and he said, "See for yourself." I thought he was joking at first, but he was serious. So I turned the key and started it up. It sounds AWESOME. It's much throatier sounding than you imagine it would be. It doesn't sound like a "little 500" should sound. Pictures do not do the sled justice it is much nicer than pictures show. ProActive suspension looks awesome too, seems like it would handle the jumps and moguls without a problem. ;)! I had to look pretty hard to find anything I didn't like about the sled. I think the radiator in the front right should have a shield of somesort to protect the radiator. The sled hardly has any storage except for a small storage comparment that is attached to the tunnel behind the exhaust. I prefer riding with a backpack anyway so it doesn't bother me.
I'm still skeptical about the weight, I figure the sled be around 500 lbs. All the manufacturers lie about the weight so I guess it doesn't really matter.
Yamaha definitly has a good sled here, if they make another model in this chassis with more HP and keep the weight down they'll sell boat loads of them.

Not like you guys care, but I also seen some of the 2007 Arctic Cat's today.
2007 Jaguar Z1 Green
M1000 162" Sno Pro Black/Orange
Crossfire 8 Orange
F8 Orange

M1000 was lighter than I thought it was going to be. I think the M's and X-Fire's are sweet sleds as well. I really liked the handlebars and seating position. The new Twin Spar chassis is nicer in person than it looks in pictures also IMO. I liked the seating position of the F8 for trail riding, not as far forward as the REV. I didn't get a chance to try out the IRP. The new firecats have definitly gained some weight over the 2003-'06 Firecat's. I could care less about the Jaguar Z1, I didn't even look twice at it.  Yes I know, this is not Arctic Chat, I'll quit now.

Good input man! I just read the write-ups in Sno tech and SnowGoer. They really seemed to like it all around. They said the low end felt more like a 2 stroke 6 or 700!!! Obviously, that wasn't the case as it reached the upper end, but it sounds like Yammie hit it on the head with this one. They also addressed, why the sled is a little higher priced then expected. Apparently, that motor is quite the engineering acheivement making it more costly then most to produce. You know that sucker is going to be bullet proof. Their favorite was the Mountain lite version as it could turn the 144" x 2" track with ease even in the steep and deep. Well not so much the steep.

i just hope some performance shop jumps on the bandwagon and helps with the power, my buddy rode one and he said it fell on its face

we had the venture lite over here in april for a demo but all the snow was gone by than, but it sure did sound nice and idle was as smooth as a babys bottom.

Probably the same sled we had over here. It sounded nice but I think the Phazers will sound a little better. I rode her about 10 feet across the concrete and back lol! The push button reverse is sweet.

it is the same sled, they had it go through newfoundland but labrador was allowed to ride it, only problem was that there was no snow. :o|

Thanks for the review. I haven't had the chance to see one in person yet, but it won't be long before they're on the showroom floors here (usually in September).

Cheers.

there is a white one on the show room floor in st.johns

I got to see and ride the Phazer Moutain Lite in West Yellowstone during the West Yellowstone Expo last March or April. Those things are awesome. They will be even better with a turbo.

A bunch of us rode them (on snow) in Muni last spring (all except the Phazer Mtn). Of course these were early models, but do a search and you should find many of our reviews from back then.

Hey, we love Allen around here!!!

He is still willing to drag race the Yamaha's while so many others jumped ship a couple years ago.

we finally got one of the new phazers in our shop today. man they are sweet, you can definately see some spots that will have some changes in the next year though.
