What is the best way to trim or shave my track lugs down.
I want to reduce the height by +-3/8"

The shorter lug tracks (<1") are much cheaper why, not sell yours and buy one with money left over and without all the hassle ?

you'll have to make a template to fit over each bar/lug and shave it with a STRONG utiliity knife or carpet knife.

track shaving figured out
I found an easy way to shave a track down. I used a Makita 3 1/4" power planer on my track lugs and shaved it down with ease. I took about 1/4" off in 5-6 passes, then took a belt sander with an 80grit belt, and cleaned up all of the hard edges. The track looks nice, and looks used, not shaved.
Try it out
