wont your clutches slip till no end using belt dressing?
to clean the clutches, just use a greeny weeny and scrub them down real good with brake cleaner. spray and wipe brake cleaner after you scrub.
for racing i used a very very fine emery cloth with the sled running holding it on the faces then i cleaned it with brake cleaner. Belt grabs really nice after that

I would highly recommend properly clutching your sled. There are a ton of baseline recommendations on the tech pages. This and replacing your belt (if needed), will really make your sled run like it should. Proper maintenance will keep it running that way for many, many miles.
Also make sure your belt deflection is set properly per the tech pages as well.
