Where can I get Heat Exchanger protectors(front and rear) for my Viper S. They dont come stock on this sled because of the 1 1/4" lug track.
Will any of the other Pro-action chasis protectors work?

Protectors

Any of the pro-action front and actual tunnel protectors will work. Use SRX rear heat exchanger protectors. It has been argued on here to death but you should change your drivers to 8 tooth if you are going to stud that 1 1/4 track in there.

Thanks, I think I will try clipping the track just shy of the protectors and watch it closely. I know Ive seen all the debates about doing it, and some pretty reputable TYers have had good luck.
What the Hell, it couldnt be that hard to change a damaged front heat-exchanger!!lol :o|
Thanks again, Sno-Xr

Been there, done that

Changing the front heat exchanger isn't bad, it just takes lots of time and beer. If you cut yours, let me know, I have a couple. I've been toying with the idea of trying what you are doing myself. As a side note, I have been using 1" square by 1/8 wall tubing for tunnel protectors for years. I think they work great. I would have to take a look but I think I have front and rear heat exchanger protectors for your sled. How about $40 shipped? Let me know if you are interested. If so, I'll take some photo's.

Matt, I am interested. Are the Fronts the stock type or the simple to install type ( one hole at the top and two rivets at the bottom). Send pics to snoxr@comcast.net
Thanks, Dave

Pic's and fronts

No, the fronts are definately not the type where you drill a hole and stick them up in. I wouldn't use them, but that's just me. These fronts would take two rivets on the bottom and one on the top. Awfull difficult if not impossible to install without taking out the track / drive shaft. I'll try to get photo's for you tonight.
