k guys freind just picked up an 05 fusion 900 today..144 carbide studs stock, hows he going to do against my properly set up slp viper/v-force reeds 192 chisel studs??

you might want to call your friend after the winter is over when he is done grabbing his ankles

You can make them run if you get rid of the restricted air box in those things and do some clutching.Between the air box and exhaust to meet emisions it just choked that motor right out.

give your friend a number of a good dentist and a bottle of loc tight. those things are rattle traps. ;)!

I raced a friends 05 fusion, with my slp triple 02 viper this last vinter.. We where dead even from 0-140km/h, uphills.. This was in a very good ski slope..

He had slp single pipe on his as well.. And a 44mm track.. (i`ve got a 38mm track)..

fusions are a little slow for a 900 stock, but like it has been said on another thread, a little tuning and they will run pretty fast. a piped viper should be a close race but i would bet mostly on the viper but it should be close.

all you fusion bashers are going to eat your words when you find yourself behind a properly set up liberty 900. Yes they are slow stock, but it doesnt take much $$ or effort to make them scream. SLP sells a single pipe and airbox setup that will have you grabbin your ankles to the beat of 160hp. another pipe is available from SLP for the 06's that puts it at 165hp.

not worried about the fusion no matter what

my SRX has close to 160 HP now on pump gas after being ported and set up properly.

in fact, i beat a fusion January 2005 at the snow drags not once but twice and it was set up good. dont get me wrong, it would be a tight race if the fusion is set-up properly but with a 700 i can run right with it if not out run it with better fuel mileage too

Yo BBlue,
I saw a 600 HO run with a Fusion, soooo talk to the hand!
Any sled thats been modified with pipes, and properly tuned is probably not going to be a dog.

As for 165 hp out of a fusion.....well lets say SLP likes to inflate the numbers just a little. I'll bet your lucky to see 155.

Talk to a fusion owner...They will tell you whats up!

Dont think you are ready to take on the world with your piped viper, but you are underestimating what 160ish HP is capable of doing. Your viper isn't a speed demon bone stock either. You are comparing apples to oranges with a piped viper vs. a bone stock fusion. Yeah it will get beat, obviously. you have $1000 in pipes on your motor. Put the same money in the Fusion and see what happens. :bash:

BBrain,
Do you know someone with a fusion thats piped? Are you in the U.P.?
Let me know. I would be happy to race any fusion thats not a big bore.
Maybe we can hook-up on gogebic? Torch Lake?

Grand Rapids area, and you seem to be the only one argueing??? Sometimes ya just gotta suck it up and face the fact, a piped viper is not the top dogg on the snow. Once again you will one day realize what 165HP will do to your giant ego. Yes. my neighbor has an 06' with a re-flashed ECU. PORT your viper or srx and you won't get beat. I personally would never buy a Fusion, the liberty is a time bomb, but when they run they are one hell of a power plant and you can't blow them off like a Jaguar. :dunno:

The original post above.......144 studs, other than that it's stock.

Reaalllly, is that a fact?

I don't feel too bad when it takes 900 POS to beat a 700 yami.

is it just me or didn't polaris stop making the 900? maybe there is somthing behind it. i also have seen one too many of them on fire on the net. whats up with that?

Maybe This Is Why!!! Lol
