Change shocks and limiter straps + weight transfer rods from Sxr or other long travel suspension.

Expert X only way to go!
I second what TopGunn said, but failing that, there was a brand new 0 miles Viper 04 skid on e-bay a couple days ago, don't know if it's still there.

I also agree on the expert x
Buy a used one if you can find one. a little bit cheaper then new and the things are pretty much indestructable.

Put a set of up-dated viper shocks in my SRX last year. Made a world of difference from stock. Don't need the longer limiter straps on the 2001.
Got them new from betheviper for $200 and they are worth every penny IMO.
For low bucks, you can't beat it.
Good louck.

Viper shocks
jr amsoil,
When I put the viper shocks on my SRX, I disconnected the limiter straps and transfer rods to see the free height of the suspension. It will be higher than with stock shocks and the same as SX-R sleds.
Another TY'er gave me a set of longer limiter straps from a 98 SRX which I didn't need or use. I gave them to yet another TY'er for a 98 SRX.
My stock transfer rods lined up perfectly as before with the stock location. I'm running a 1/2" spacer on top and a 1/8" on the bottom. This allows the extra height from the shocks. We have an SXR with adjustable transfer rods. My SRX hooks far better, but the location on the slide rails is different. For me, I see no reason to buy the adjustable rods.
I set the shock springs like is suggested by other TYers: Center shock to the tight specification and the main back shock to the lightest specification. The FRA is set to the softest position. I weigh 180 and rarely bottom out.
My sled rides darn nice compared to before. I've riden a 2003 F-7 and 2001 MXZ 800. My SRX is a little stiffer ride but, is far more stable and in control than either of those other two...no comparison.
I've never riden a sled with an Expert or with an M-10 so can't compare. They must be far better that the Pro-Action but, I'm talking a couple hundred bucks compared to $1,000.
Good luck,
jr amsoil,

Sorry i forgot to say it's depend of manufacturing year if you need straps and rods. If you have -01 SRX you need only shocks.
If you use Viper front shocks they will be longer than SXR shocks. This site has had topic about these problems (with viper shocks)
