I had the same plan to get away from studs and I took out my tunnel protectors and installed a ripsaw. Its an excellent all around track with wicked trail grip and still decent in soft snow with the traditional predator type lugs being better in soft snow. I don't know anything about the hacksaw, later Josh

personally i am a hacksaw man i have put then on all of my srxs. They are a amazing track for the trails. They seem spin a little when your in the deep stuff ( i mean 1-2 feet of pure powder). On hard pack i think that it is on of the top tracks.

do you need to remove the tunnell protectors and do you mean just the front or all of them. also how high of a lug are you running.

I have a 1.25 Ripsaw on my 02 SRX without studs. IMO it made it a whole new sled. The hook-up is awesome. I just let the tunnel protecters wear down the track in those spots.
