Keeping bore and stroke stock, with no other limits other than running carbs without boost or nitrus. I would say 180. I called Faster Motor sports in Denver and Mike said can do and it would still be reliable..

a 180 HP SRX can not run with pump gas but yes i have heard of it being even higher than that. I think dons pro-stock srx was around 212
thought you were referring to bone stock motor

for a stock bore 700 srx or piped viper your gonna get around 160-165hp with it being right on the money tune up wise, but its not gonna be stock cylinder or head specs. Like someone said below these higher hp numbers some say they have is strictly race gas, full race porting, big carbs, reeds, case porting/machining, lots of cylinder work, lightweight internal parts, lots of head work, cdi box change, custom built race pipes, and alot of $$$$.
Tomseal6, it wasnt that high, I wish a yamaha 700 could do that though.....lol
a 780 or 800 srx or viper has a bit more potential though, they make a bit more power with the same porting/head work as the 700, but the differance is the torq output, its like a tractor.

justin fuller @ benders built my '98 IS700. dyno'd @ 190 hp @ 9750 with stock bored carbs. this was a full race motor. the same motor with lectrons was 195 hp.
justin also built a full race 835 for a PA. customer that made 212 hp.
trail ported 700 srx - around 158 hp.
trail ported 835 srx with big pipes, case porting, stock cranking pressure & 38 mm carbs - around 185 hp.

ALSO I KNOW THERE IS NOT LECTRONS ON SOFA,S SRX. I THINK THEY WERE STOCK CARBS BUT BORED. NOT HUGE THOU!!!. VERY INPRESSIVE SLED. LIKE I SAID, THIS SLED WOULD BE VERY COMPEITIVE ON BIG MOOSE LAKE HERE IN N.Y. WHERE THE FASTEST SLEDS IN THE EAST ARE!!! 3:16 (tony)

STOCK SRX HP WAS ANYWHERE FROM 138 - 145. DEPENDING ON YEAR. 00-02 HP WAS MOST !! I REMEBER WHEN 98 CAME OUT, THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO BE 140, BUT I BELIEVE THEY WERE A HAIR UNDER. RUMOUR HAD IT 2002 HAD MOST BECAUSE OF LEAN JETTING WITH DCS. TRUELY TELLS YA WHAT A GREAT SNOWMOBILE THIS WAS. BEING A 696 cc SLED AND WAS ABLE TO COMPETE IN THAT 800 CLASS. TOTAL DOMIANCE ON GRASS FOR FIVE YEARS UNTIL THE F-7 CAME OUT. MANY ISR GRASS DRAGS NOW ARE MAKING THE F-7 ADD WEIGHT SO THE SRX CAN GET BACK ON THE TRACK. OR SOME HAVE A MULTI- PIPE CLASS TO KEEP THEM OUT. 3:16 (tony)

yea tony, good point
The F-7's are not getting a weight penalty for being so light because they are a twin.
Is hay hays making them add weight now in the stock class? havnt never heard anything about them having to ad weight. I know it was a big controversy when they came out, But i think i will pass on owning a big green hand grenade.

TOM , I THINK IT GOES BY WHAT RACE ORGANIZATION RUNNING THE RACE. THE RULE IS IN EFFECT, BUT DO THEY ALL USE IT ? !! LIKE I SAID, THERE ALSO IS A MULTI-PIPE CLASS AT SOME PLACES. 3:16 (tony)
