I have just acquired a 78 Yamaha Enticer Spcial Twin from the original owner who put this sled away (running) in 85. I'm starting a resart, rebuild, and restore project on this old screamer, and am looking for info. (manuals, tech sheets, specs) and anything else that might help me with this project. Any info would be a help. Pictures welcome.

Where are you located? 300 Enticers didn't come out until the 79' model year.
Just think, they had full aluminum frames, front to back. Good deep snow and hard packed performance, great reliability and power to weight.
They are great little sleds, the absolute best in their class at the time but seem rather hard to find parts for in my area (Northern Nova Scotia/South New Brunswick).

Hey Snowjet Steve! Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize the sled was a 79. I just went by the date on the licence plate dated 78, so just assumed it was a 78. You're locatated close to me actually. I went to school in Moncton and live in Fredericton NB now, since 73. Going to contact Yammiegod3:16 for his service manual for this sled. Thanks for the info. Winter coming soon, so hope to have this little gem ready soon.

Wow you aren't far at all!. I had a few friends in UNB there so I was hanging out there quite a bit also skiing at Crabbe a bit too since the man-made snow was about the only kind that could be found last winter. What shape is the sled in? Have any pictures?
I would say that I want it at any cost but I have enough on my plate. My mom had a 77' Enticer 250 and even my dad said it was his favorite overall despite owning Merc Twisters at the time. I was looking for one for awhile but then found a GPX and then a beautiful Exciter 340 that was barely ever touched.

Maybe you could put it in the shows around here. We are trying to boost the Yamaha numbers to combat the hoards of yellow and black/green/purple!

Here's another option for you, this site has all the part breakdowns and goes back to pretty much every Yamaha sled ever made.

Thanks SnowJet Steve. Great pics. I'm in the middle of prepping for Moose season right now, so the restoration project is on hold for a few more weeks. I'll post a few pics as soon as I can get time to take them. The sled is in great shape and doesn't require more than a tune up and a good cleaning as far as I can tell right now. Do you have any idea what the horsepower rating is for this sled?

First photos

Well folks. Took some pics of the 79 Enticer 300 Special Twin. However don't know how to upload them into this post being a newby here. Took the cover off of it for the pics and decided to give starting it a try. After 4 pulls with the choke off and the throttle pressed, switching the choke on, 2 more pulls and this little gem fired right up amidst a cloud of smoke. LOL. Let it idle for about a minute with the choke on , switched the choke off and it idled by it self with no problem at all. Seems like all I'm going to have to do is general lube and tune up stuff, (plugs, new gas, new oil, and grease job along with a good cleaning and wax). I'm totally amazed! It is about 75 degrees out today so didn't let it run to long.

HP rating.....

26 Hp / 6500 Rpm

Engine deplacement : 294 cc
Dry weight : 159 Kg
Track lenght : 256 cm

Anything more you need to know ?

Don't think I want to sell right now. With winter rapidly approaching and the machine seemingly working good, Ide like to play with it for now. I may just tour around and take in a few poker runs and possibly a classic sled show or two. Will definitly keep you in mind should I decide to sell in the future though Steve.

Photo uploads

Can anyone tell me how to upload photos of this sled in the forum? I' see others have done it but when I try through "manage attachments", a message pops up and tells me its an unknown file type.

Go to "USER CP", then click on "edit sled garage".
You should be able to upload directly from your PC. When I see a sled in nice shape I pay good for it. I'm budgeting at least $700 for a nice Enticer 250 or 300. I know to some here that sounds expensive but thats how prices for sleds are in the maritimes here. My mom had a 77' and Both my parents loved it the best despite owning Merc Twisters. It's kind of a sentimental thing. However, I have some sleds to sell before I go adding anymore :S Plus I have to finish my new shed up. Thanks for keeping me in mind!
