what would be the best think to do? Should I change the entire control rod or just get the quick adjust knobs for the stock rods? Please discuss..

I used the Maxximum Perf "nuts" on my Viper without issue, I know they say the aftermarket rods are stroger and may provide more adjustment but mine where fine for everything I ever needed.
I have the Yamaha RT nuts, they do not freeze and adjust great.

being mr frugal, i'd buy the nuts and save my hard earned cash for fuel for a few days of riding. ski

I had a stock one bend on me twice, just slightly, but still anoying. They arent very strong. Installed the maxxperf ones last season and the difference in quality is amazing. Chances are though, that you will never end up bending a rod, but if you demand the best, you know what to get.
Awsome change to do to the skidframe either way, made a big difference.
