ALL of the 121-136" sleds are the same motor as the 2003-2005 REV 800's.
The powertek 800 motor is dyno proven over 140 hp (142ish) and was available in all models for beginning in 2005.
Yamaha makes some great products and I was fairly happy with my viper. Once they get power over 120hp on the phazer and maintain 500ish pounds I will go back to yamaha. I just grew tired of having to modify my sled to have it be competitive so now i have a 06 Renegade 800.
BRP is not scared of 4 strokes. They are the leaders in clean two stokes and with their partnership with evinrude and their E-teck outboard technology and direct injection they will continue to be the two stroke leaders. BRP is to two stroke technology what yamaha is to 4 strokes. Both have their markets and are flurishing.
Competition is healthy and so it good natured trash talking. Like others have said, yamaha can not get bent out of shape over an ad in a magazine after their "johnny skeptical" dvd's.
