I have a 99 srx 600 and i bought it with a bender clutch already installed. I rip till about 80 and slowly climb to 110. My gearing is stock. Would gearing up for a 39 tooth to a 41 tooth sprocket help????

I have a 98 srx6 and rpm's go to 8500 and stay there. I bought it used w/improved clutching but I'm not sure what was done to it.[Interceptor 700, do you remember?] My thoughts on the gearing are to either drop 1 tooth on the bottom or go up 1 on the top for some more top end.

8300 is max anuthing over that your losing power wgat ius the rpm's out of the whole ehen you punch it.

When i had my srx 6, i think turk advised me that it should pull 8200 out of the hole and slowly climb to 8400

You're pushing my memory :dunno: lol.

Seems like they had different helix and different primary spring. Don't really remember about the weights. I have a few sets of weights banging around, we'll get her tuned on the ice this year!! ;)!

thanks guys!!!! If I drop a tooth on the bottom, what kind of difference is that going to make?? Am I going to lose some of my quickness?

Drop 1 tooth on top. The 600 can run 8500 rpm on top on a long run but should come out at 8200 for best race performance. I owned a 98 & 99 600 SRX & raced em a lot.

thanks turk!!!! Where do I get a 22 tooth sprocket??? What do I have to do to bring it down to 8200?? :2strokes:

You need to add more inner weight in the primary clutch or get a helix with a slightly steeper angle then your is now. I would just post a wanted add for a 15 wide 22 tooth 98-99 srx top gear.
