OK, so I did the search and read up on the 20-22mm gap spec at the adjuster, 20mm being the higher oil injection rate I think. Anyways, put on my 2" riser, and thought I would check the cable. It seemed to be adjusted to much less, so I adjusted to 20mm, measured with calipers. My question is, with it now adjusted, when the throttle is buried to the bar (Not that it ever will be when riding :bump: )
the arm on the pump does not actuate to what I would consider the wide open position. There is still room in the travel of the arm left, at WOT on the bar. Just want to confirm that this is correct. Oil pumps make me paranoid, especially after just re-doing the engine! Thanks.

The oil cable adjustment should be at the idle position after throttle cable freeplay is adjusted. If you allow that much gap at WOT you have reason to be paranoid.

Can you explain that in a little more detail?
What I'm saying is, the cable could be pulled manually further than the position it is in when at WOT on the bar. I would say the arm on the pump is like 7/8 of it's way through it's full stroke, at WOT on the bar. Does that make sense? I don't know if it is supposed to swing all the way though.
So what you are saying, if I understand correctly, is-the pump arm should start to move the instant the throttle starts to be depressed? Or is that not accurate? :o|

Did you measure the distance with the throttle at idle and the cable pulled apart at the joint as far as it will go (Don't force it, just pull it taut)?

Yes, that's how I set it in the first post, not explained very well. But after setting it to the 20mm gap, it just appears to me that when the throttle is applied to a WOT position, the pump arm is not at wide open. I know it goes further from when I had the cable disconnected from the throttle, you could pull the end of the cable, and the pump arm would go up and almost touch the bracket where the cable comes through. So I assumed that was the wide open position. Maybe it doesn't need to go as far as I was seeing it move when I had the cable disconnected. I have the manual on CD, and did what it says, which jived with what I dug up on the site here on other posts. Just wanted to double check. Geez, we need snow so we can ride instead of tinker!

also if you just redid your motor you can add oil to the gas tank for your first tank just to make sure the pump is free of all air and will give you time to ensure your oil tank level is getting lower.

Also 22mm = less oil in the motor
20mm = more oil in the motor.

The less gap = more oil because it pulls the lever sooner.

Correct me if i'm wrong guys..........
