I want to put a 1.25" lugg Ice Ripper on my 03' viper. I have read the i am goin to need to go with 8" drivers for clearence and then trimm the luggs. I dont want to cut any luggs. Any idea if I can get away with a track like this with out any mods?

I don't think you need to trim the lugs if your going with the 8 tooth drivers. Tom Hartman (hartman inc.) said I go that way and still have room for trail studs too! I think you will need to remove the heat exch. protectors though.

if you change to 8 tooth drivers you will be able to keep the protectors. i put a ripsaw on mine and had to trim about 1/8" off the track where the protectors were and that was without the 8 tooth drivers.

thanks guys, im goint to go with the 8 tooth drivers and see what i have for room. I have heard that with the smaller drivers i will need to go with a 24 top gear to keep my top end. do you think its worth it... How much top end do you think i will lose??

Maxdlx, Did you change your top gear ? and where did you get your drivers i was just on Hartmaninc.com and found anti slip drivers is that what i need?

most sleds are overgeared stock, so you might not have to change. your speedo will be further off, so you'll have to change the pickup too.

you can leave your stock drivers in and still run the ice ripper.you will need to remove protectors or notch ( trim) the track where the clip area is so it doesnt rub on them.very easy to do.easier then removing protectors.

I left my gearing stock because I went to a 136 while i was at it. I got the drivers from Rich, for a great price. Get the wahl or the ski doo drivers, they run off of the windows and 2 sets of track lugs. Maxdlx

I put this track on 03 Viper, only have to remove front heat exchanger and tunnel protectors. Both pretty easy to do.

IMO, i would get the 8 tooth drivers and then you don't have to remove or trim anything. as far as gearing, run and see if you like it, if you don't, then slap a different gear in. Like Max said and if i had to do it over again, i would get extrovert drivers so you can run the track looser.

8 tooth drives with the protectors left in are a lot cheaper than a front cooler plus the time and pain in the butt to put it in. Maxdlx
