I own a 98 700 XTC-P. I am replacing my 121 1.5" (stock) track with a pre drilled ripsaw (1.25) that I want to stud. The only way I can do this is to replace the 9 tooth drivers with 8 and then change the gearing from 22/40 to 23/37 (to keep the same ratio, 1.82) I am just wondering if anyone has done this and if so is it worth it?
Thanks.
Thanks.
PM Maxdlx, I think he used to have a sled like yours that he did a lot of suspension work to. If he didn't I am sure he would still have some good insight for you.

I run the ripsaw without studs - it's a great track, I'd try that way it if you haven't drilled it yet. Save you a bunch of time and $. (d'oh I should read better - disregard that.)
If that is what you want to do it sounds like you are on the right path though.

xsivhp- Thanks for all of your help so far on all my threads. Even though I bought the pre drilled ripsaw. I think I am going to try it this season without running studs. I think I will like it and it will be much cheaper...
