Is it really risky to run stock GPX drivers with anything over 80hp or should I change to involute?

We ran the stock drivers in mod stock using the GYT 440 engine (90 + HP range). - that sled ran for years after that - by a trail guy.
5 lap ice ovals - WOT week afer week - and tested on the grass as well.
The sled was fast and won most every race it entered.
Stock Chassis - Mod motor (Mod - Stock)
I'd put the OEM 1974 GP433 rear springs and front swing arm in for a much better start and full speed.
