I'm going to be selling some parts from my rebuild once I get it completed. It looks like 1 messed up jug, 1 good jug, reeds, cages, 2 "pitted" heads and some other various pieces from a 96 600xt. Any suggestions on prices?

Either check out the TY classifieds or ebay and see what they're going for. Of course it depends on the condition of the parts.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Some of it comes up so randomly and I don't always catch an auction end.

If a good one goes for $150 +/- and it's about $180 to "re-build" one, what's a damaged one go for? It's not clean that's for sure, but I've seen worse. Heck the head I took off, was in better shape than the one I bought. I would guess that you could re-use the heads if you were crafty. Some reeds/cages are going for $30 per cylinder and then I see $30 for a set. I guess I'm just looking at what's fair. I put up the boyesen reeds I had bought for $70+ for $60 just trying to get rid of them. I found them online for $80.... but I don't know if I'll get any bites.

how bad is the bad jug?? deep scratches??? etc.??

It's bad, but not terrible. Certainly not light scratches. It's tough to photograph. I'll try to get pictures up of everything this weekend.

I can't imagine why it didn't want to run.... I'll admit most (ok really all) of that damage is my fault. I made it limp along instead of stopping when I knew I was down a cylinder...
