I saw this on R-news this morning. If you ride in Webster you should attend. I totally understand what they are trying to fix and it does need fixing. If all they are doing is limiting access in the sub-divisions that is fine with me. Its our "general" access rights that I don't want to see get revoked. I moved here for that main reason. I can ride out of my garage. There are so many inconsiderate riders here in Webster that are ruining it for most and if we can self-police or educate them that would go a long way.

Trail closures were serious last year with the general lack of snow. I never rode once out of my garage because we never had enough snow to ride. I saw hundreds of sleds running on the roads, bike paths and the CLOSED!!! Trail system with only 1” or so if snow. This is what shut down the main access of trails from the Webster Inn to the main trail. If we want to continue to keep Webster happy we need to help out. This is the only place I know of in a metro area that you can wave at a cop in a 4-way stop when he is in a car and you’re on a sled. Let’s not loose that golden privilege because of others STUPID selfish acts.

Webster May Limit Snowmobile Access

The town of Webster will take up complaints of careless driving by some snowmobilers at a special meeting Thursday.

Webster's town board may pass a law limiting where snowmobilers can ride -- prohibiting operation in the town's many subdivisions. Leaders say that's where most complaints come from.

“Things like driving over people's driveways and flower beds and front yards and leaving a lot of damage,” said town supervisor Ronald Nesbitt of the nature of the complaints.

Webster officials will hold a public meeting on the issue Thursday, September 28 at 5:30pm at Webster town hall. They hope to have a new law in place before the first snowfall.
