I see SRX and viper powervalves have different part numbers. Are they the same? can I use a SRX valve in my viper? I found one has pulled through...it is also worn down almost 1/8" of the end of the valve shaft. Also what may cause this?....Just poor adjustment? Can I build this up somehow and fix it?

Do a search on powervalve repair;someone posted a pic of a repaired valve using a piece of round stock or a bolt and drilling out the end of the valve to accomodate it and machining the end for the cable.
I've got it saved somewhere if I can find it I'll post it here for you.

they are not the same. the angle the valve is positioned is different between the 2.

SRX and Viper Valves are different and not interchangeable. Yes you can repair them, but unless you do it yourself or find someone who will do it cheap, you might as well pick up a new or used one. I will say that some of the repaired ones are stronger than the new ones, but be careful that you don't pull the end off the cable.
There are 2 common reasons they pull the cables through the ends . . .

- The cables are adjusted too tight.
- The valves have developed ridges on them that keep them from opening all the way. (Too much prolonged low speeds maybe ? ? ?)

Yes of course, Thanks Paul . . .
Failure to clean them regularly will also cause them to stick, and possibly pull through.
