Well...I'm in a quandry. I recently picked up a 79 SRX. Visually, on a scale of 1-10, I'd say it rates a 6. It only runs on one cylinder, popped the heads off and it's got two brand new Wiseco std. pistons in it. One cylinder has been sleeved but the other hasn't. The sleeved cylinder measures 69.5 and the non-sleeved measures 68.5 (at the top, with calipers so I know it's not 100% accurate). Obviously one of these is wrong if it's got std. pistons in it but the one that measures 69.5 (with sleeve) is the cylinder that runs. The seat has had an aftermarket cover put on it and the wood is shot along with the metal ears at the front lower edge. Hood has been repainted but is solid and it has several paint-cracks on it from what looks like too thick of paint. Everything else seems to be in reasonable shape for it's age.
My question is, should I fix it up and sell it, sell it as is, or part it out? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest packing it all up and sending the whole thing to me...
Actually, it doesnt sound that bad, maybe try fixing it up.

I tend to agree with most people and I hate seeing a sled chopped up or a really cabbaged restore job. I had every intention of restoring it until I got it home and I then decided to just make it a good "everyday driver" rebuild. Until I got it running and found out the bigger problem, it was heading that way. I don't have the time nor money that it really deserves to put it back to even a "daily driver" type condition. I hate the thought of parting it out but they all get to an age that others can use the donor parts themselves. I saw on eBay a set of vents (by your knees) were already over $50.00 and that leads me to beleive there are some desireable parts on here. I'm not really looking for anyone here to make me an offer, but I still have to come to a decision sooner or later. I figured by the time I was done, (without the engine problems known), this would probably brought $1000.00 on the open market.
