I'm looking to replace my skis with either a pair of viper s skis or mtn. skis. I know there are better ones on the market, but I don't want to spend much $$.
What is the difference between the Viper s and regular viper skis? Are they wider and more aggressive or just more agressive?
Would I be better off with the mtn style or viper s? i do 50/50 off/on trail riding.

the viper s have a deeper keel than the regular viper skis, so they are more aggressive on the trails. The newest mountain skis are amazing as well from what i have heard, real wide for good floatation, and an aggressive keel for the trails

I run the saddless mtn skis with 8 inch sharper bars, and well its the best set up I have ever ridden. Maxdlx
Is this the Mtn. ski you're referring to?

I love mine. they float way better, and you still get good trail handling. Maxdlx

aj remember, those mountain skis are wide (7") some like that, some dont. i have a set on my offtrail viper and like them. if you wanna come out and look at them feel free. i have a set of usi project x to view here as well. i thought the mountain skis floated too well on a packed trail with new fluff on top (pushed). but, i only had stock carbides not shapers. need to try the shaper bars and see if that will make it turn better. ski

Ski the sharper bars really shine on the new light fluff snow. You'd like them. Maxdlx

You're right ski, the width would be my only concern. It seems like they would not be ideal for trail riding, but by the sounds of it, they are liked for both types of riding.
