Boondocker TURBO Phazer - testing

Man, there's just something awesome about having a turbo on such a small light sled! I'd wanna see that in action on snow!

That would run a lot quicker in the snow. Water and grass has a ton a drag.
I wonder what the cost and HP it produces.

the things should be wicked fun. i mean, sure yamaha had to sacrifice a few things like the 14 wide track, and they didn't leave a lot on the table to lose, but it can be done. exhaust -8lbs maybe, tunnel -5-6lbs, m-10 -20ish pounds i believe, skis -2 lbs, a-arms - 3-4lbs, carbon fiber pannels -10 lbs total, composite wheels -2lbs, floats are ??? -3-4 lbs, seat and plastic stuff -6-8lbs, chromoloy or aluminum front tube frame -12lbs. theres a lot that can be gone if you ask me. sure the turbo adds something like 20-25lbs, but they should still be fun things. i know i want one! probably a fx tho, not a long track.

O I bet the turbo didn't add all that much weight. afterall the got rid of the radiator, its only there to make the sled more symatric, its not needed.

The radiator is definitely needed. It was moved to under the seat where the tunnel opening is since the exhaust is gone and the turbo is up where the radiator sat originally.

i saw a turbo kit that said it would do 165hp, cant remember the company name though. i talked to a yamaha dealer and they mentioned something about a bigger motor and new style twin coming out in the chassis next year. hasn't been one year and the sled has got everyone talking bout the future of the sled, and the imaginations are runnin wild.

I wish Yammie wouldn't keep hanging these things from digital scales at EVERY show. Sheeesh.....everyone knows what it weighs...stop advertising it already.

of course they will though, thats the biggest argument AGAINST them. everyone agrees they are smooth. everyone agrees they last a lot longer. everyone agrees they are well made. noone agrees on if they are too heavy or not. me, I dont care since I trail ride. I am not trying to lift it...ever lol! no real powder other than on the lake occasionally, and I dont ride ditches. everything I need, they have. but other people seem to think it needs to be a lot lighter, and for them it might. so yamaha built it and is out to show it off :)

true. I bet it wont handle like an apex or vector though, too high up. I like that on the viper I dont HAVE to work it to make it corner, but I can. its the biggest worry I would have getting one
