I was wondering if the rear shocks are the same length.Thinking of long traveling a friends 97 700sx and he found a set of rx-1's on e-bay.The part numbers don't match. But i believe that it is the same skid as a viper??? Any help would be great!!! Thanks

they are different shocks but are the same length. the rear shock has no bearings in the ends so make sure you get the bushings new and the collar that goes in side, shim them tight and grease them with a hard grease before installing.

the rear shock will be a gas bag shock, non rebuildable with a rebuildable front shock.

they will work, you will need longer straps, and your spacers in the back will be different.

The spring on the rear shock is very long and heavy but the origanal will work if you screw the jam nuts to about 2 inches short of being fully compessed.these are RX1 shocks and springs before putting the old spring back on the rear.
