700SX and DOO formula 670

I put Turks green spring and helix on my viper S and run dead nutz even with Wingnuts 97mxz 670. We both have non-studded 1 1/4" tracks. He had his dealer install a clutch kit when he bought the sled, other than that he's stock.

I ran my buddy's mxz670 and his formula 670 with my well set up 700sx. The mxz was clutched and the formula was not. I pulled about 3 sled lengths on the formula and the mxz pulled me by about 3 lengths. Those 670's are pretty quick!

those 670's are FAST when they are well tuned and a stock redhead 700 will have a lot of trouble with them.

my mom had a 670 formula z with that terrible arm suspension. pulled like a train up to 40, then was pretty damn flat lol. maybe the skid was killing it??

yeah the old 97 SX got beat up pretty bad by that ugly a$$ purple formula when I first got it. They are PIGS but my uncle would walk all over my little stock 700. But I managed to make it a race by the end of the season.

I owned both type sleds: 95 670 Formula SS and a 00 SXr 700. The SS was getting pretty long in the tooth when I was racing my buddies 99 SX 700 and I could still beat him by a sled or two in 660'. Top end was about a wash. Those 670's are torque monsters with great throttle response! In stock form the Doos TRA clutch, weight transfer, and RAVE setups were better performers than the stock SX line. Now, on my own 00 SX700r, it took clutching (primary weights only) and better weight transfer for me to be able stay about even with the likes of MXz 670's.

We had 12 sleds at the cabin, and out of all of those (including 3 700's), and some other peoples bigger iron, our best 500' sled was a stock 1998 Formula Dlx 583 that my buddies wife bought for herself! (this was after I sold my 670SS)

I was a Doo man back then, man did I work on them to keep 'em running. Not so much the engine, but chasis and drivetrain problems galore! The SXr was a whole different story.

TOM, MILLIONs OF TIMES FOR ME. MY 97 700 SX WITH CHISELS, GEARED , CLUTCHED, OTHERWISE STOCK BEAT MOST. EVEN TOOK AFEW MACH 1,s!!! SLED THAT WAS FAST WAS THE H.O. 670 MXZ. THOSE FOR SOME REASON WERE TROUBLE. 3:16 (tony)

670

The regualr mxz 670's can come alive with a little clutch work .snoxr is right dan's 670 goes pretty good.
The 670's make about 117hp and the ho is 129hp

I had no touble with the 670's with my old V-Max 600 - the HO's ran a little better, but stock for stock I don't think the 700 SX should have a problem with them!

I didn't know there was a difference but I had to ask and my uncle had an HO. He had a good 20 minutes of bitchin about how it fouled plugs and flooded constantly.
