I was wondering how the Expert X suspention worked in a Viper. I was thinking of getting one and wanted to know how well it worked. The proaction is starting to get to abusive of me(I am getting older) I also wanted to know were I could get the best price on one. Thanks,Eric

I'm only 21 and I bought one for my Vip cause the stock rear skid wasnt cutting it. After a 300-400 mile weekend through the woods and beat up trails, my back was hit and didnt feel like moving. But this will be the first year with it so I cant give ya opinion on how good it works, but I'm sure there guys on here that will.

mono weighs in at 56 pounds! We are hoping to get it down to 50 pounds flat with aluminum parts. Things are dang light. We are also working on making lightweight kits to convert your proaction skid over to a mono skid but it will be all light weight and will also weigh 50 pounds flat. The stock pro-action skids weigh in at 73 pounds give or take.

i have an expert x in my viper, but i stretched mine ot 136 when i first put it in so cant say about how it went as 121. the 136 expert x you cant even compare to the proaction, not even close. i personally love mine. you can feel the suspension go through its stroke and know its working.

For some reason the number 62 sticks in my head for the expert. I thought I read that someone weighed one out at 62lbs, but that may have been from a different website.
I got an expert in my viper and it works pretty good awesome weight transfer little rolling friction I have to use the parking break sometimes while idleing so it dosent roll away. This suspension really hold up to punishment I beat the hell out of my viper and no problems with the expert x yet

The mono is good for my wife but way to soft for me so that is why I wanted a suspention that I heard you could beat on a little more03viperguy said:do you like the mono in your apex? that is what I am going to do, and it might be a bit cheaper hear a lot of good things about the expert

Do you guys know who has the best price on the Expert X? Thanks
Custom John had quite a deal on them in Ontario earlier this year, you could contact him on this board on the Custom Sled Shop tab on the main index. The exchange rate might make it viable? Plus they seem to be cheaper up here, maybe due to import duties.

When I was looking into a new one, Excell Motorsports told me that the retail on them increased to $1700 if I remeber correclty. I had them down to $1600 shipped around the same time, cause it was right after he got the new prices from A.D. Bovin from what I was told. But I saved myself 600-700 bucks and bought a used one. So I'd just keep your eyes open.

Last I heard, the Expert X suspension are only 6 pounds lighter then the stock proaction but I am not totally sure as I have never had one. If that is true, they would weigh in at 66-67 pounds. The monoshock is extremely light.
Expert in SRX
I installed a expert in my 02 srx and love it, never had a problem. I found the best price from Rich motorsports, thought it was around 1500 a couple of years ago. Rich also gave me a template used to drill the holes, not sure if he has another one, but you can check. Rich is also is very knowledgable about the install, and settings, and answered any questions that I had, so maybe give him a shot.
