Is it necessary to take the thermostat out of a srx in order to hook up the cool down cart lines? Also, can it be hooked into the line right on top where it goes from the coolant tank to the head? Thanks
 
yes, you either have to remove it or block it open(thermostat). yes you can run the cooldown fitting in top hose.
 
open it up and take a small peice of old brake line, slit it length wise with a hacksaw, insert it over the shaft in the middle and crimp it.
 
cool fluid should go into exchangers first then come out of engine into cooldown cart, this way you dont "shock" the motor.
