Am I missing something?
I can't get my cyl's off.
I Have everything removed ( heads, carbs, coolant drained etc...).
I have done everything but take a sledge to it. Tapped with a rubber mallet. But i'm nervous about hurting something. Is this normal?
Please help a frustrated guy out.

Exhaust off, flanges also off, pv's out. Tried tapping it at front and back. I have all the nuts off.

There shouldn't be a problem then? Maybe those cylinders are just stuck on the base gaskets... I know even after the second time it was hard for me to get these SX cylinders off.

I had a hard time takin gmine off and had to keep tapping until it finally let go.
Sometime the alignment collers corode and get stuck on, try putting a good penetrating oil down around the top of the studs , let it seep down through the clearance hole on the cylinders.

did you take off the nuts that hold cylinder to crank case ? if so take a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer and give it some love taps as they said the dowel pins might be making it stick.

That's exactly what happened. The dowel pins were stuck real good.
Got em off. Thanks guys.
