I just pick up a 1980 SRX. Starting to clean the carbs up and noticed there was a fuel line fitting with no line on it. Can anybody tell me what is suppose to go on it? IS there a fuel line suppose to go to it or is it just left open? See pic. Any help please.

I have a 78' Exciter that uses a similar carb and will be activating a couple of 1980 SRX's this fall for someone. I'll take a look and see what you are talking about.

I didn't know if it was a power jet or not. I have no books on this snowmobile at all. It has the one fuel pump there but had no lines to them. Does any ome have all the stock specs for this sled at all?

vent. The 80 carbs were not power jet carbs, they are butterfly carbs. The only carbs to my knowledge with power jets were the roundslide mikunis last used on the 79 srx.

THE 1980 SRX DID USE POWER JET BUTTERFLY CARBS. HERE ARE ALL THE CARB SPECS.
MAIN JET # 260
POWER JET # 115
PILOT JET # 85 !!! 3:16 (tony)

could very well be I just didnt remember the little line that fed the power jets like the 79 and older, its been a while since I worked on them 80 carbs...not too many of them left....LOL

Ok I have these marked 1 and 2. One is the vent hose and two is that the power jet hole. It looks like it was blocked off. It has 270 main jets in the carb. If the power jet is blocked off, will the 270 be enough with out burn down?

Any idea which mains I should be using? Is the 2 in pic where the power jet would be? On these carbs would the power jet need a seperate fuel line coming from the bowl or is the fuel supplied to the power jet internal somehow form the bowl? The power jet wehere two is marked has a hole on the fitting on the outside. Any help please would be appreicated.

The power jet fitting has no fuel coming frome the float bowl and there is no fitting on either float bowl. Is the fuel to the power jet internal on these carbs? Please help. Thank you.
