Oil cable 94 vmax 600

I got a 94 as well, it has index marks at both idle and WOT..I went by your advice and set it to around 30.5 MM. I appreciate everyone's help.

unfortunately...I'm in WNY...it'll be a couple of months to wait, I will keep an eye on the amounts used and post back....

@red,

your pump must have been changed too, original '94 pumps did not have line up marks.

Keep a close eye on her, don't want it to go lean!!!

I am buying a new oil pump for mine. I am purchasing the 8cr-13100-01-00. I think it was bad when i bought the sled. The owner said it would foul plugs every now and then. Then I will fine tune everything else. Thanks TY for all the help.

If I remember right, Yamaha expected an average of 100 miles per quart to be used but considered up to about 80 miles per qt. to be normal consumption (if anyone knows anything different than that, let us know). The 2 cylinder sleds of that time were known for high oil consumption.

To check the pump output, measure the consumption. Either fill the tank completely full to the bottom of the neck or make a mark on the tank at the level of the oil. Zero the trip meter. Run the sled and add oil as you go until it takes a quart to get back to the starting point, and then check the miles traveled.
Of course it will vary somewhat depending on conditions and how the sled is run.
You can change the cable length and retry until you get the consumption you want.
